The Diaper Bag is Empty

I know I'm a crazy mom taking a picture of my child going potty but, this was taken back in August and I can now offically say he is Potty Trained!

To Infinity and Beyond!

Jacob had Buzz Lightyear party for his 2nd birthday.  He loves Toy Story, especially Buzz.

We had the whole family come along with some friends from across the street.  We played musical characters. The kids walked on the characters until the music stopped, then I picked a character from an envelope and if I picked the character they stepped on they were out of the game but they got a Logo Banz of one of the Toy Story Characters. We had a pinata and sitting on balloons until they popped.  He received many cool gifts but he loved the basketball hoop he got.

I'm Ready for an Amazing Year

Even little Jacob stayed awake for the New Year.

chicken pox?

Brendan and Dylan came in the house covered in bumps after sleeping out on the tramp.

I kept teasing by telling them they have chicken pox but really they have hundreds of mosquito bites.  

Brendan and Dylan slept out on the tramp for a fun night with their friend. It was sprinkling throughout the night but the mosquitoes were the worst part of the night.  Why they didn't come in when they heard swarms of them around them still baffles me but apparently they still had fun.  Almost a week after getting the bites, Brendan's bites got worse. They started itching him like crazy. He couldn't sleep at night and we used everything we could get our hands on to try to help him. I think he just kept itching them too much. He missed a day of school from all the discomfort but I am happy to report they are not itching anymore.

Now we are just waiting for the bumps to go away on both of them.  

Christmas Day Highlights

Another Christmas has come and gone but I have to say it was a really good one. 

We spent a nice relaxing day with the family opening presents, playing with presents, and watching the sunset.  The boys found out on Christmas day they are getting a dog.  Since it takes months to get all the shots necessary to get the dog to Hawaii, the boys just got to see a picture of her. Richard named her Lady Bug. We can't wait to get her but we will have to be patient because it looking like we will have to wait until August. :(

Things I loved about December 2010

 

Lots of beach time with the kids. Jacob loves the water and can't seem to get enough of it. Waves will cover  him and he gets right up and waits for them to get him again.

Paddle boarding.  Richard's new hobby. He got two so the kids can go out with him.

 







Spending time with Family.  We had 6 of the 7 brothers and their family here on Maui for a few weeks. 


 Christmas Eve activities. One of our favorite games we started last year has become an adult favorite.

Gingerbread Men. We made them at least four times this year. Mmm they are good.

I love how Jacob thinks everything is hair gel. He found some lotion in my bathroom and started rubbing it in his hair. I don't however love cleaning it up. Other things he likes rubbing in his hair---food.

Black Eyed Boy

After a big fall off the kitchen counter, we decided to take Jacob to the doctor to get him checked out.  His left eye was starting to get swollen and all he wanted to do was sleep.  He is not sure why he is at the doctors but he can still see out of his eye at this point. 

This is what his eye looked like the next morning.  I was pretty shocked to see it had gotten that bad when I went to get him the next morning.  It was so swollen and purple, but for some reason it didn't seem to bother him.  He played and watched tv just like normal. He even continued to climb back on the counter he fell off of. Such a boy!
